Annie Couch is an oil painter whose work captures the luminous, ethereal landscapes of the Appalachian Mountains. Inspired by the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge Parkway, she paints sunrises, sunsets, and the fleeting moments of light that transform the natural world. Her canvases explore the delicate interplay between the outer landscape and the quiet, reflective spaces within, drawing viewers into liminal spaces where the boundaries between sight and feeling gently dissolve, leaving a lingering sense of wonder.
Annie discovered her love of art at an early age, captivated by the way light and color could capture the world’s beauty. She studied Political Science with a minor in Studio Art at the University of Notre Dame before earning her JD from the University of Tennessee. Her work brings the same focus and discipline from her legal training to her landscapes, proving that following your passion can create something extraordinary.
Raised in the East Tennessee, Annie now resides in Western North Carolina with her husband and beloved dog, Ravioli.
